From horse-riding to sipping lattes in IG-worthy cafes, these are the 9 best things you can do in Bukit Indah!

If you’re tired of the usual JB spots and want something a little different, trust me, Bukit Indah is definitely worth a visit. This place is full of surprises that most people (including me) didn’t know about.
Where is Bukit Indah?

While many Singaporeans are familiar with places like City Square or KSL, Bukit Indah sits at the heart of the rapidly-growing Iskandar Malaysia zone, a key area slated for major development.
This means Bukit Indah isn’t just another JB neighbourhood!
With trendy cafes, activity spots, and lifestyle spaces popping up alongside new housing and upgraded roads, the area is good for Singaporeans wanting to explore something new in JB.

Things to do in Bukit Indah
1) Evolt Karting

Tucked inside AEON Mall Bukit Indah, Evolt Karting offers an adrenaline-pumping go-karting experience for both beginners and seasoned drivers.
What I really liked was that the karts were fully electric, so they were quiet, eco-friendly, and surprisingly smooth to drive. Each kart has F1-style steering wheels and is easy-to-use, which makes it feel more high-tech than your usual go-kart. If you’re feeling competitive like I was, you can race your friends and track your live rankings on the screen!

A single 8-minute session on the novice track costs RM70, which you can easily book via Klook. Balaclavas are mandatory, so do bring your own. If not, they are available for purchase for 5RM at the counter.
Cost: From ~S$22/pax via Klook

2) Inuyama Cat Cafe

Inuyama Cat Cafe is a newly-opened cat cafe with a Japanese-inspired, pink floral aesthetic that instantly makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a dreamy world.
It’s super clean, cosy, and filled with the friendliest cats I’ve ever met in a cafe! According to the staff, there are over 30 cats here, including rarer breeds like Munchkins, Sphynx, and British Shorthairs. Some were playful, some just wanted to lounge, but all were perfect cuddle and photo buddies :3

Being just a short ride from AEON Mall Bukit Indah, it is the purrfect stop after a full day of activities.
We booked our session through Klook, which included complimentary in-house brewed drink! What I appreciated most (aside from the cats, of course) was how bright, clean, and thoughtfully decorated the place was. No weird animal smells, and you can tell the staff really take good care of the cats. If you need a serotonin boost, I’d definitely recommend dropping by.
They also serve drinks (RM12.9) and food such as Croffles (RM18.9), but be careful to hold on to them. Or else, the cats might make a meal out of them!

Getting to Bukit Indah from JB Sentral

I personally prefer ride-hailing options (such as Grab) to get around JB as a group, as it’s the most convenient and affordable way! For example, our ride from JB Sentral to AEON Mall Bukit Indah was only RM20 (~S$6).
Alternatively, there are public buses from Singapore to AEON Mall Bukit Indah, where Evolt Kart is also located.
Head to Woodlands Checkpoint, and look for the Causeway Link buses CW1 or CW2. The journey typically takes around 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic and customs clearance at the Causeway. Tickets cost ~RM2.80/pax (~S$0.85) and should be paid in cash to the driver when you board.
If you’re looking for a more flexible option, renting a car from Singapore is another great choice. The drive to Bukit Indah is straightforward and takes around 30 minutes depending on traffic.
*Note: Ensure that your rental car allows for cross-border travel.
