New Year’s Eve can get pretty hectic and crowded, especially if you’re celebrating it at the heart of the city.
So for those looking to welcome 2026 in a more intimate setting, why not head to Boon Lay for the countdown instead?
Featuring homegrown performances, fun games, local food, and a spectacular firework show — all brought to life by Boon Lay’s very own community — you’ll definitely feel the charm of a true heartland celebration.
So ring in the New Year at the Boon Lay Countdown 2026 event, happening at the hard court next to Blk 215 Boon Lay Place on 31 December 2025, 6PM to 12:30AM.
Dance through the decades at the Eras Dance Floor
Ever attended an event and wished you could pick the music?
Well, one of the biggest things Westies can look forward to in this year’s countdown event is the Eras Dance Floor, where the night’s playlist will be curated by none other than you… and the rest of the heartland community.
Inspired by Taylor Swift’s monumental world tour, DJ Joshua will be playing hits from the 1960s to today.
From mid-December, you can take part in a series of giveaway voting contests on Boon Lay’s Facebook page.
Simply cast your vote for one of four eligible songs across different eras, and leave a comment explaining why you chose it. You might just end up as one of the few lucky winners of attractive prizes, and hear the song played during the actual countdown night.
This is all part of creating a fun, inclusive experience that brings residents of all ages together, through music across generations.

The South West District (which Boon Lay is a part of) is also home to many talented residents! And for the first time ever, the annual countdown event is putting the focus on them instead of external acts.
Check them out at the Homegrown Voices Showcase, where they will take the spotlight at Blk 207 Boon Lay Place — just a short 200m walk from the main event grounds.
One act to look out for is Viya and Riya, a sister duo who grew up singing together at home, in the car, and during family gatherings. Making their musical debut, their performance is sure to be a heartfelt moment, and a proud one for the Boon Lay community that watched them grow.
More familiar faces in the neighbourhood will be sharing their love for music and the community on stage, so don’t miss out!
Also, enjoy the special dance performance from the beneficiaries of Boon Lay’s ComLink programme, aged 7 to 12. Expect a routine combining traditional Malay dance and contemporary movement, meant to celebrate both cultural roots and modern influences.
Through volunteers and family coaches, the ComLink programme supports lower-income families in Boon Lay by helping their children grow with confidence and opportunities. This performance gives these young performers a chance to shine, and is also their small way of giving back to the community that has supported them along the way!
Celebrate community spirit through music and dance
Rounding out the Boon Lay Countdown event, it has an exciting lineup hosted by entertainment personalities: Jonathan Tee, Kimberly Chia, and Tay Kewei!
Look forward to energetic, musical performances by local artists like CØDE:U$ and Little Band Plus.
If you’re not singing or dancing along, there’s still plenty for the whole family to enjoy — from carnival-style game booths run by River Valley High School students, to a variety of food and drink stalls. So come hungry and ready to explore!
Then for a fiery finale, watch a dazzling fire dance show from the Flaming Matrix before the clock strikes midnight.
Go green with free Anywheel bicycle passes

Getting to the Boon Lay Countdown 2026 event is easy, with free bike rentals from Anywheel. On 31 December 2025, participants can redeem limited 30-minute bike passes to enjoy a safe, car-lite journey to and from the celebrations.

Compared to city-centre countdowns which can be super extravagant and a little overwhelming, the Boon Lay Countdown offers a more relaxed, heartland-led celebration. Plus, admission is free, and it’s also easy to get to via MRT or free Anywheel bicycle rentals!
