Hold on to your passports as travel might be returning to normal really soon!
[UPDATE] There are no more VTL countries starting 1 Apr 2022
Starting 1 Apr 2022, the VTL scheme will be replaced with the Vaccinated Travel Framework, making travelling easier for everyone 🛫.
According to the new rules, there will no longer be any VTL countries or designated flights back to Singapore. So you can travel to any country and take any flight back home without serving quarantine upon arrival!
While you’ll still need a supervised ART or PCR test within 48 hours of departure, there won’t be on-arrival tests in Singapore.

2) Where can I take my on-arrival ART test in Singapore?
You can take an unsupervised ART test within 24 hours of arrival and submit the results online

Thank you, this was super helpful, so just to double confirm under turkey vtl i dont need to take a test pre departure from singapore and likewise for pre departure from turkey?
Thank you again.
Hi! No pre-departure test from Singapore is required if you are fully vaccinated at least 14 days before travelling to Turkey. However, you’ll need to provide proof of your vaccination status. You may check the latest restrictions and requirements here: https://www.istanbulsairport.com/en/restriction-sep
As for entry into Singapore, you’ll need to take either a PCR or ART test within 2 days before departure from Turkey.
My sister is a Singaporean & she is going back to Malaysia via the VTL at Causeway from 1/3 to 6/3.
May I know the requirement when she reached Malaysia until her return? Would appreciate it for your advice.
Thank you

Hi! Love your article! It is so helpful in many ways!
I would like to ask if travelling to Tasmania, Australia possible as there isnt any direct flights from Singapore to Hobart? I am planning to go around late March.
Another question, the last returning flight back to Singapore is a VTL flight as stated in the SQ website but the first flight before transit is not stated as a VTL flight. Would it still be qualified as quarantine free?
Thank you in advance Trini!
Hi, glad that this article has been useful for you! Even if there are no direct flights, it is still possible to travel to Tasmania by transiting through a different area or by interstate travel in Australia. You’ll have to check the specific airline for the flight details though as it would be more updated.
Also, based on our knowledge, as long as your flight back to Singapore is a direct VTL flight and you’ve stayed in a VTL country (e.g. any part of Australia) for at least 7 days, it should be qualified as quarantine-free. However, do check with the airline or respective embassy to be absolutely sure, as well as for any latest updates.
Hope this helps 🙂
Hi! Are we able to enter Australia on any flight (no need for FEPO etc)?
Hi there! As per the latest updates, travellers from Singapore may enter Australia on any direct flight. For more info, do refer to this airport guide.
Hi thanks for the info!
I do have two questions that i cannot find in any website. Its regarding the on arrival supervised art test in singapore, how early can i book the qtc/ctc via the appointment booking portal?
Can I book a slot before arrival to singapore?
Hi! I believe you can book an appointment here http://go.gov.sg/traveller-art-test. As for how early, we’re not a 100% sure but some travellers have noted that you can do it 10 days before arrival.
