Harry Potter: Visions of Magic is the latest magical event happening in Singapore this year — with 10 interactive zones to explore 🪄
Calling all Potterheads, bookmark your calendars for 22 November 2024 because Harry Potter: Visions of Magic is finally here in Singapore! It’s an interactive art experience that will transport you straight into the wizarding world ⚡ We recently had a preview of it and this is what you can expect:
Hint: Cool interactive zones, exclusive merch and delicious butterbeer are just some highlights!
Harry Potter: Visions of Magic vs other HP experiences in the world
There are plenty of Harry Potter experiences across the globe (we even created our own bucketlist!), but what makes this one different?
We interviewed the Weasley twins (James and Oliver Phelps) and here’s what they had to say: “It’s so immersive, it’s got 40,000 square metres of stuff to do, and anytime you’ve got your wand, there’s something around to manipulate to work!”
So this is something different from experiences like the Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour, which is more focused on how the magic is made rather than being able to make the magic happen yourself!
The whole experience combines video, architecture and soundscapes that will truly make you feel like a wizard (we know we did).
While Visions of Magic has an ongoing experience in Belgium, the one in Singapore is the first in Asia and also the largest instalment with 10 zones! There are two new zones unique to Singapore (The Chamber of Secrets and The Trap Door), which makes its debut extra special.
Visit 10 interactive zones
Before you start your journey, all budding witches and wizards will need to collect your interactive wands at the entrance! As you wander around, don’t forget to swish and flick — and watch the magic unfold ✨
*Pro-tip: The zones are pretty dark so we recommend bringing a portable light to help with photo-taking!
1) The Knight Bus
Race through London’s streets on this iconic triple-decker bus, complete with bunk beds! We were super awed when the bus started to light up in a mirage of colours.
2) Grimmauld Place
Protected by powerful charms, use your wand to reveal secrets of the Black family tree and a glowing fireplace.
3) Ministries of Magic
Explore three Ministries (Paris, London, and New York) — each with a unique light projection and sound effects!
4) Hall of Prophecy
Wander through a mirrored room filled with glowing orbs and wave your wand to receive your fated prophecy (ahem, involving he who shall not be named) 🤐
5) Chamber of Secrets (Exclusive to Singapore)
Brush up on your Parseltongue, as the Chamber of Secrets will be opened once again 🐍. This is by far one of our favourite zones and it was so surreal to see the door unlock to the lair of an ancient Basilisk.
6) Newt’s Menagerie
From Nifflers to Grindylows, look out for these fantastic beasts in their magical habitats as you enter Newt Scamander’s suitcase!
7) Knockturn Alley
Stroll through the streets of Knockturn Alley and watch as stores come alive with projections, shadows, and sound.
8) Room of Requirement
Only appearing when a witch or wizard needs it, who knows what magical objects you’ll find here! Psst, perhaps the Sword of Gryffindor, the Mirror of Erised or the Sorting Hat? 🤔
9) The Trap Door (Exclusive to Singapore)
Experience the trials the golden trio went through in their quest for the Philosopher’s Stone. Oh and don’t forget to say hi to FLUFFY too!
10) The Pensieve
Dive into a swirling pool of memories in the Pensieve and relive moments from Harry’s journey in an immersive experience! For a special surprise, watch till the end 😉
Try butterbeer at the cafe
At the end, recharge at the cafe and try the iconic butterbeer (just like in the movies), but don’t worry it’s non-alcoholic! There’s the usual drink or a slushy version but personally, I prefer the former as it was smooth and refreshing with a hint of butter.
Other Harry Potter-inspired food include macarons in the shape of a Niffler or Hedwig, Hogwarts Houses muffins and cakes! We tried the macarons and they were both cute and sweet.
Shop exclusive Harry Potter merch
Bring home exclusive souvenirs like mystery patronus wands (~S$39), Niffler keychains (S$22) and Harry Potter-inspired mugs (S$20) to remember your visit!
I grabbed myself a bottled butterbeer (S$17) to get drunk cause I just couldn’t have enough of it 🥴
