When a full moon rises over the exposed mudflats of Roebuck Bay during low tide, it casts a shimmering reflection that creates the illusion of a staircase leading up to the sky.

This unique sight is called the Staircase to the Moon, and it only occurs two to three times a month between March and October!

At Gantheaume Point, discover 130-million-year-old dinosaur footprints imprinted in the reef rock, visible only at low tide. The footprints span 80km along Broome’s sandstone coastline, making them potentially difficult to find on your own.

So, it’s best to join a guided tour, where experts will know the best photo spots and also share insights into the fossils’ history, plus ensure your safety along the way. While the footprints can be accessed by foot, the tour also includes a cruise, offering a unique perspective of the coastline from the water!
