Affordable hotels near Hong Kong Disneyland โ just in time for ‘A World of Frozen’

Do you wanna build a snowman? โ๏ธ ICYMI, Hong Kong Disneyland’s World of Frozen has finally opened its doors to the public on 20 November 2023 โ and I can’t wait to see Arendelle come to life!!
While staying right next to the park has its perks (like being the first ones there or watching fireworks from your room), it can be pretty expensive โ the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel can cost up to ~S$1,500/night ๐ฑ
So we’ve rounded up a couple of alternative hotels that are more affordable and around half an hour’s journey to Hong Kong Disneyland by public transport (so you don’t have to travel far)!

1) Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel

From ~S$190 per night, Sheraton Hong Kong Tung Chung Hotel may seem a little pricey. But hey, it’s a five-star hotel after all. It’s also still one of the more affordable hotels compared to the resorts next to Hong Kong Disneyland (up to ~S$1,500/night) ๐
You can choose between city or ocean room views, and there are various food options like a rooftop grill, a modern Chinese eatery, and international all-day dining. Facilities here also go the distance, with a fitness centre, gift shop, tourist info desk, spa, sauna, and hair/beauty salon?! WOW.

*Pro-tip: The hotel offers free shuttle buses to the airport and Tung Chung MTR Station (making it easier to head to Disneyland)! Airport buses run every hour (6:45AM โ 11:15PM) while Tung Chung buses run every half hour (7:20AM โ 10:30PM).

Located on Lantau Island, Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong is surrounded by gorgeous landscapes โ each room comes with a floor-to-ceiling mountain or sea view ๐
Rooms are spacious and even come with a bathtub! There are also facilities like a fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool, and an on-site spa.

Nearby attractions include Epicland, Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car, and of course, Hong Kong Disneyland. Not to mention, the Hong Kong International Airport is only a 25-minute drive away!

3) Noah’s Ark Hotel and Resort

Ever heard of Noah’s Ark? TL;DR It’s a story in the bible where God was planning to flood the earth, so he told Noah to build an ark to save his own family and a bunch of animals. And at Noah’s Ark Hotel and Resort, you’ll get to live through this famed story (minus the flood) ๐
You definitely won’t miss the hotel, it’s a GIGANTIC ship with animals like giraffes and elephants lining the entrance!! Rooms are also decked out in wooden flooring and animal paintings to fit the theme.

It’s situated within the Noah’s Ark Hong Kong Theme Park, so besides the life-sized animals and ship, there are other attractions like a 180ยฐ movie theatre, scenic gardens and a rocket-themed playground for the kids ๐

4) Novotel Hong Kong Citygate

This one is for all the shoppers โ Novotel Hong Kong Citygate is literally right smack in one of Hong Kong’s largest outlet malls, Citygate! The shopping mall features more than 150 international brands like Adidas, Coach, and Dior with discounts of up to 90%, a large cinema, and many food options like Paradise Dynasty and Shake Shack.

The hotel is also near MTR Tung Chung Station, which makes it pretty convenient to go anywhere via train (Disneyland is only two stops away)! Plus, there’s also a free shuttle to the airport every 20 minutes from 6AM to 11:40PM daily.

5) Dorsett Mongkok

In terms of location, Dorsett Mongkok is one of the more convenient hotels to stay near Hong Kong Disneyland! It’s a 9-minute walk to Olympic MTR Station so you only need to change one train line (Disneyland Resort Line) before you’re on your way to the happiest place on earth ๐

Rooms here range from smaller comfort rooms to twice the size like Family Quad or Suite Premier rooms (with a city view, a satellite TV and a working desk). After a day of fun at Disneyland, you can take it slow and explore the hotel’s surroundings such as Olympian City, Langham Place Mall, Goldfish Market, Ladies Market and Flower Market (all less than 15 minutes on foot).

Settled in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, some iconic attractions nearby are Victoria Harbour, Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower, Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Hong Kong Museum of Art.

For dining options, there’s Loong Yuen (Cantonese dishes), Bistro on the Mile (international food), Hari’s Bar (cocktails and live music), and Osteria Ristorante Italiano (Italian dishes). So you can avoid the crowds and head back from the park early to have dinner at the hotel ๐

There’s also a supermarket near the hotel so you can grab a quick snack for breakfast before heading off to Disneyland.
