This may be the most magical place when thinking of where to stay in Khao Yai! ✨
If Khao Yai were a person, she’d be the quirky alt-kid of Thailand.
Despite being only 3 hours away by car from Bangkok, it feels like another country altogether — one that’s more playful and unique. Just take a look at the Baan Suan Noi Resort, a unique accommodation and attraction here, straight out of a fairytale.
With themed rooms like Hobbit houses, Santorini-style decor and more, here’s what you can expect 😉
Sleep in a Hobbit House
We’ve talked about whimsical accommodations in Khao Yai before, but Baan Suan Noi may just take the crown for being the most ✨extra✨.
The resort is popular for its Hobbit houses resembling those in Hobbiton — the iconic fictional village from The Lord of the Rings. These “houses” are characterised by their round doors and rustic charm.
And unlike most Hobbiton replicas in the world, you can actually spend the night here!
Opening the giant round door reveals a kitchen, living room, and bedroom decorated with earthy tones and wooden furniture.
Aside from the Hobbit Houses, opt to sleep in rooms furnished with the iconic blue-and-white colours of Santorini, like we did!
Rooms start at ฿1,000/night (~S$39) for 2 pax, and they have bigger options that can accommodate up to 10 adults.

While some travellers choose to sleep here, it’s also a popular day trip attraction in Khao Yai for photo-taking.
Baan Suan Noi may look unassuming on the outside, but once you enter, you’ll be greeted by lush greeneries, colourful flowers, and vibrant decor.

It’s not just the Hobbit Houses that make the resort a fairytale affair. Feel free to take photos in other themed areas from your favourite works of media.

There’s a replica of the Harry Potter castle, the iron throne in Game of Thrones, and some Disney-themed costumes and props — available for rent to make your experience in these places more immersive!
