Trip Itinerary

Day 1 — Arrive in Osh

Meet your new travel pals at the airport. Chill in the city and rest well before the adventure starts tomorrow!

Day 2 —  Kara Bulak Village – Tepshi Camp (Meet your horse!)

Take in the breathtaking views of the majestic mountain ranges as we drive from Osh to Gulcha. Here, we’ll begin our horse ride up a dirt road. This path runs alongside the Kara Bulak stream towards the Tepshi camp, passing by shepherds’ yurts nestled among the Junipers plants.

As we approach the top of the climb, we’ll leave the road for a trail that leads up the ridge. This is where we’ll stop for lunch, taking in the rugged beauty of the Alay Mountains across the gorge formed by the Gulcha river. Afterward, we’ll descend to the Tepshi camp, where we’ll enjoy dinner with our host before calling it a night!

Day 3-5 —  Horse Trek through the Alay Mountains

Over the next 3 days, we’ll embark on a horse riding adventure into the untamed beauty of the Alay Mountains. Escape the mundane city life, and experience the exhilaration of riding freely through the vast plains and steppes. We’ll ride through two mountain passes — Airy Bell Pass (2950m) and Ak Tor Pass (3040m)! Expect the trails to transform from serene pine forests to rocky mountain paths.

At night, we’ll live how the traditional nomads do, in yurts! Engage with local people, learn more about Kyrgyz traditional culture and cuisine, and we’ll even get to witness cow milking and dairy making by our hosts!

Day 6 — Drive to Sary Mogol Village

We’ll leave the mountains and drive for 3 hours to a small town near the Pamir Highway. Sary Mogol is often the starting point for many adventurers (like us)! Spend the rest of the day resting in our guesthouse and admiring the spectacular Alay Range rising like a white wall along the horizon.

Day 7 -13 — Trek Begins

Spend the next 7 days trekking in the Pamir-Alay Mountain Range, one of the most stunning mountain ranges in the world that still remains relatively unknown and off-beaten. Characterised by its rugged grandeur, we’ll walk through towering glaciated peaks, deep valleys, and lush green meadows. Summit 4 passes on this trek — Koshmoinsk Pass (3210m), Sarybell Pass (3132m), Jitpick Pass (4185m), and Travellers Pass (4150m). At the top, marvel at the panorama of imposing seven-thousanders, including Lenin Peak (7134m), the second tallest mountain in both Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Day 14 — Drive back to Osh

Today starts with a 5 hour drive back into the city. Take one last look at the beautiful mountains racing past, or take a well-deserved nap. Spend the afternoon exploring the city before ending the trip with a farewell dinner at a restaurant at night!

Day 15 — Fly back home

Say bye to your new pals, this ain’t a goodbye, just a see you later 🙂

Qn: Who is this trip suitable for?

People who are adventurous, willing to rough it out, and excited to immerse in a new culture.

Also if,

– You want to visit Kyrgyzstan without having to plan
– You have an open heart to meet people from different walks of life and go with the flow
– You want to trek and rough it out in the Alay Mountains and connect with nature
– You want to experience traditional nomad life on horseback

If that sounds like you, you’re in for a great time!

Qn: 11-day and 15-day trip, which should I sign up for 🤯

Do you:
1) Have at least 11 days of leave to spare (incl. 2 weekends)
2) Want to explore the varied landscapes in the Alay Mountains
3) Love trekking/hiking to high mountain passes of over 4,000m (it will take your breath away for sure)

Go for the 15-day Ultimate Expedition!

But if you:
1) Only have 7 days of leave to spare (incl. 2 weekends)
2) Prefer a trip with less hiking
3) Want to see the 7 lakes in Sary Chelek National Park (via a day hike on foot)

Go for the 11-day Adventure!

Both trips have the exact same horse riding segment so you’re in for a hoofin’ great time. I guess they’ll neigh-ver be a dull moment 🐴

Qn: Where do we meet?

We will send you our recommended flights after sign up. If you take the same flights as us, we will meet at Changi 🙂 If not, we will meet you at the hotel in Osh!

Qn: How do I get to Osh?

There are no flights from Singapore to Osh. You will have to fly into Bishkek and take a domestic flight (https://flytezjet.com/) to Osh. Upon sign up, we will give you our flight recommendations. If you arrive at Osh at the same time as us, airport transfer will be provided!

Qn: What’s the weather going to be like?

We’ll be at the end of summer, with day temperatures ranging from 15-25C, and the nights dropping to 0-10C. The temperatures vary depending upon the altitude, wind and other weather conditions, so it’s still important to bring layers to stay warm.

Qn: Do I need to know how to ride a horse?

Beginners are welcomed! Trust us, you’ll learn fast and get better as the days go by! We’ll move slowly if needed, and will make sure that no one gets left behind!

Qn: Do I require a certain level of fitness?

You don’t have to be an athlete but we wouldn’t recommend going from couch potato, straight into the mountains! Both horse riding and trekking are physically demanding activities, so you will need to train up to fully enjoy this experience. Good news is that there is time to train up and there will be a training plan to help you get there!

Qn: What are the accommodations like?

In the mountains, we’ll be hosted in homestays and traditional yurt camps run by the locals. In the yurts, you’ll be sleeping on mats on the ground with blankets piled on top, and sharing it with 3-5 other people. It’s not going to be luxurious glamping, but we’ll get to experience the nomadic culture and way of life! In the cities, it will be a mix of 3-4 star hotels.

Qn: Are there hot showers/toilets?

Hot showers are available at only a few of the camps. Toilets are shared and outside in a small hut.

Qn: How is this different from going on my own?

Trips to exotic destinations are more fun with a big group! But not everyone has friends that are willing to jump onto an adventure at a moments notice! We planned this community trip so you can meet other fellow adventurers from different walks of life that are equally passionate about travel! There’s also safety in numbers, and our team on the ground will lookout for each and every one of you 🙂

What’s more, our TTI Experiences team will be on the ground capturing different moments from the trip. We’ll be producing a trip video and sharing some edited photos for you to remember all the small, the epic, the silly moments.

Qn: Can you book my domestic flight for me?

If you need help booking your domestic flights, please text us after you’ve filled in the sign up form. There will be an additional admin charge of S$100 on top of the original flight price.

Qn: Is this trip open to all nationalities?

All nationalities are welcome to join.

In the application, let us know where you’re from so we can help you out with the info required for the visa application if needed!

Qn: Do I need to bring any cash along?

Yes, you do! There are a few days of R&R in the cities. Cash is also required if you happen to purchase anything along the trek.

Please Note:

Various unforeseeable circumstances such as inclement weather, transportation delays, and altitude sickness may disrupt the planned itinerary of the trip. Our team will make appropriate adjustments prioritising safety. We retain the right to discontinue your participation in the event you are unable to maintain pace with the group or if you become unwell.
