Hong Kong Creator Challenge Terms & Conditions

Effective: 27 September 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern applications for and participation in the Hong Kong Creator Challenge. By submitting an application, each applicant confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. Shortlisted applicants and selected creators must also sign any participant, travel indemnity, release or campaign documents reasonably required by the Organiser. Selection and participation are conditional on those documents being completed and returned by the applicable deadline.

1 Organiser, Content Partner and Campaign Partner

1.1 The Hong Kong Creator Challenge (the Challenge) is organised by Atlas Media Group Pte. Ltd. (the Organiser). The Travel Intern Pte. Ltd. is the content partner (the Content Partner), and the Challenge is conducted in partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB).

1.2 The Organiser is responsible for administering the Challenge and coordinating creator participation. The Content Partner supports creator recruitment, content planning, content facilitation and campaign communications. HKTB is the campaign partner (the Campaign Partner) and may participate in final creator selection and judging.

1.3 The Organiser may act through the Content Partner and their respective appointed agencies and service providers when administering the Challenge.

1.4 Instagram, TikTok, Meta and any other social media platform used in connection with the Challenge are not sponsors or administrators of the Challenge and are not responsible for it.

2 Challenge Overview and Key Dates

2.1 The Challenge will select eight creators to travel from Singapore to Hong Kong, explore assigned areas, create campaign content and compete for prizes.

2.2 Applications are scheduled to open on 28 September 2026 and close on 11 October 2026 at 11:59PM Singapore time (Application Period). Applications received after the closing time may be disregarded.

2.3 Shortlisting and selection are expected to take place from 12 to 23 October 2026. A mandatory online briefing is expected to be held on the evening of 26 October 2026.

2.4 The Hong Kong trip is scheduled for 25 to 29 November 2026 (Trip Period). Selected creators must be available for the full Trip Period, all mandatory briefings and reasonable pre-trip planning activities.

2.5 Dates, timings, locations, itineraries and programme components may change for operational, safety, weather, travel or other reasonable reasons. The Organiser will notify affected applicants or creators as soon as reasonably practicable.

3 Eligibility

3.1 To apply, an applicant must, as at the application closing date:

  • be at least 21 years old;
  • be a Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident, or legally residing in and based in Singapore;
  • hold a passport valid for more than six months from 25 November 2026 and be legally able to enter Hong Kong;
  • be available for the full Trip Period and all mandatory Challenge activities;
  • operate public Instagram and TikTok accounts throughout the application, campaign and judging periods;
  • meet the published minimum follower count and audience-location requirements;
  • have experience creating content relevant to at least one Challenge pillar, including food, culture, arts or adventure; and
  • be able to produce and publish the required content by the stated deadlines.

3.2 Employees of the Organiser or HKTB, their immediate family members, and persons directly involved in administering or judging the Challenge are not eligible unless the Organiser expressly confirms otherwise in writing.

3.3 The Organiser may request documents or information to verify eligibility. An applicant who provides incomplete, inaccurate or misleading information may be rejected or disqualified.

3.4 Applicants are responsible for determining and completing any visa or entry requirements that apply to them. Visa fees and application costs are not covered unless the Organiser confirms otherwise in writing.

4 How to Apply

4.1 Applicants must complete and submit the official application form during the Application Period. Each person must submit an individual application.

4.2 Applicants must provide complete and accurate information and ensure that links, social accounts and work samples remain accessible for review.

4.3 No purchase or payment is required to apply. Each person may submit only one application unless the Organiser states otherwise.

4.4 The Organiser is not responsible for incomplete, corrupted, delayed, misdirected or unsuccessful submissions caused by technical or connectivity issues outside its reasonable control.

5 Selection of Creators

5.1 The Organiser, supported by the Content Partner, will review eligible applications based on factors that may include campaign fit, content relevance and quality, storytelling ability, creativity, travel-content experience, audience profile, engagement, availability and ability to fulfil the campaign requirements.

5.2 A shortlist will be submitted to HKTB for review. The final eight creators will be selected by the Organiser in consultation with the Content Partner and HKTB.

5.3 Selection is based on qualitative and commercial considerations and is not determined solely by follower count or engagement rate. The Organiser’s selection decision is final, subject to applicable law.

5.4 Successful applicants will be contacted using the details in their applications. A successful applicant must confirm acceptance and submit all required documents, including the travel indemnity and release, within one week of notification. Failure to respond or complete the required documents may result in the offer being withdrawn and given to a reserve creator.

5.5 Being shortlisted, contacted for further information or named as a reserve does not guarantee selection.

6 Creator Pairings and Assigned Areas

6.1 The eight selected creators will be arranged into four pairs. Pairings and assigned exploration areas will be decided by the Organiser and HKTB based on creator profiles, strengths, content styles, campaign needs and operational considerations.

6.2 Creators may express preferences, but they have no right to select or change their partner or assigned area. The Organiser may change pairings or areas before or during the Challenge where reasonably necessary.

6.3 Each pair will plan a well-rounded itinerary within its assigned area and the approved budget, with guidance from the Organiser. All itineraries remain subject to review and approval for campaign fit, feasibility, safety and budget.

7 Travel Arrangements and Covered Costs

7.1 Subject to these Terms and Conditions, the Organiser will arrange or cover:

  • return economy-class flights between Singapore and Hong Kong on the group itinerary;
  • twin-sharing accommodation arranged by the Organiser; and
  • an approved content-collection budget of S$500 per pair for specified food, activities, local transport and other approved campaign expenses.

7.2 Unless expressly confirmed in writing, the following are not covered: travel insurance, mobile data, passport or visa costs, personal purchases, room upgrades, minibar charges, excess baggage, unapproved itinerary items, costs above the approved budget and costs arising from a creator’s personal travel extension or failure to follow the group arrangements.

7.3 The content-collection budget will be provided in advance and will be subject to approval requirements.

7.4 Accommodation is expected to be twin-sharing with another creator of the same gender. Single rooms are not guaranteed and any approved upgrade cost will be borne by the creator.

7.5 Personal trip extensions may be considered only with prior written approval. Any fare difference, accommodation, insurance and other extension-related expenses will be borne by the creator. The creator must still complete the full Challenge itinerary.

7.6 A creator must not independently change a flight, hotel or other group booking without prior written approval. Costs or losses caused by an unauthorised change will be borne by the creator.

8 Creator Fee and Campaign Value

8.1 No creator fee, appearance fee, salary or other cash compensation will be paid for participation, unless separately agreed in writing.

8.2 The benefits provided to selected creators comprise the sponsored travel arrangements and approved campaign expenses described in clause 7, together with the opportunity to compete for the prizes described in clause 12.

8.3 Participation does not create an employment, agency, partnership or joint-venture relationship between a creator and the Organiser, the Content Partner or HKTB.

9 Creator Deliverables

9.1 Each selected creator must create and publish, at a minimum:

  • two Instagram Reels, with each Reel crossposted to the creator’s TikTok account (or vice-versa); and
  • at least 15 Instagram Stories posted live or during the Trip Period, unless otherwise directed in the campaign brief.

9.2 The Organiser will provide a campaign brief, mandatory tags, disclosure requirements, approval stages, technical specifications and posting deadlines. These materials form part of these Terms and Conditions once provided.

9.3 Creators must attend the content hackathon and work on the deliverable identified by the Organiser. Attendance at scheduled showcases, interviews, group activities and wrap-up sessions is mandatory unless excused in writing.

9.4 Instagram Stories may be posted without prior approval only if permitted by the campaign brief. All other deliverables and content angles are subject to the stated review and approval process, including up to two reasonable rounds of revisions.

9.5 Creators must keep all required posts publicly accessible for at least one year after publication and must not delete, archive, hide or materially edit them without prior written approval.

10 Content and Conduct Requirements

10.1 All Challenge content must be original, accurate, respectful, suitable for a general audience and consistent with the campaign brief and applicable laws, codes and platform rules.

10.2 Creators must clearly disclose the sponsored nature of the trip and content using the wording and tags specified by the Organiser, such as #ad, #sponsored or an equivalent clear disclosure. Disclosures must be prominent and not hidden among tags or behind a ‘more’ prompt.

10.3 Content must not:

  • infringe copyright, trade mark, privacy, publicity or other third-party rights;
  • include music, footage, images, artwork, locations or identifiable persons without the permissions reasonably required for campaign use;
  • contain false, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, dangerous or unlawful material;
  • depict illegal conduct, unsafe conduct, excessive intoxication or conduct likely to damage the reputation of the Organiser, HKTB, Hong Kong or another participant; or
  • feature an undisclosed competitor, third-party sponsor or commercial integration.

10.4 Creators must follow reasonable instructions relating to safety, timing, access, filming restrictions, brand presentation and local laws. Creators remain responsible for their own acts, statements and published content.

10.5 The Organiser may require a creator to correct, revise, remove or replace content that breaches these Terms and Conditions, the campaign brief, platform rules or applicable law.

11 Ownership and Use of Content

11.1 Each creator retains ownership of original content they create, subject to the rights granted below and any third-party rights contained in that content.

11.2 Each creator grants the Organiser, the Content Partner and HKTB a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reshare or embed the creator’s approved Challenge content, name, account handle, image, voice and likeness on their website and on social media.

11.3 The rights in clause 11.2 include use by the Organiser’s, Content Partner’s and HKTB’s appointed agencies, media partners and service providers solely for the approved campaign purposes. Any whitelisting, creator-handle advertising, platform partnership advertisement or use beyond the agreed scope requires additional written consent from the creator and will be treated as a separate commercial agreement.

11.4 The Organiser, the Content Partner and HKTB must not edit content for length, format, captions, subtitling, localisation and technical requirements.

11.5 The Organiser may photograph, film and record Challenge activities. Each selected creator consents to the use of their name, handle, image, voice, likeness and participation in behind-the-scenes, promotional, editorial and recap materials within the scope and period stated in clause 11.2.

12 Judging and Prizes

12.1 The main prizes are:

  • First place: S$5,000;
  • Second place: S$2,500; and
  • Third place: S$1,000.

12.2 Final results will be determined by:

  • community performance, based on platform metrics; and
  • assessment by a judging panel comprising representatives of HKTB and the Organiser.

12.3 Only genuine, organic engagement will count unless the Organiser expressly permits otherwise. Creators must not purchase, automate, manipulate or improperly incentivise views, likes, comments, shares, followers or other engagement. The Organiser may exclude suspicious or unverifiable activity and request supporting analytics.

12.4 The judging panel’s decisions, score calculations and interpretation of the judging criteria are final, subject to applicable law.

12.5 Prize recipients will be announced on https://thetravelintern.com/hong-kong-creator-challenge/. They may be required to provide identity, payment and tax information before payment. Prizes are non-transferable, and each recipient is responsible for any personal tax obligations.

12.6 A prize may be withheld or reassigned if a recipient is ineligible, has breached these Terms and Conditions, cannot be contacted, fails to provide required information or is reasonably suspected of manipulating performance.

13 Withdrawal, Replacement and Disqualification

13.1 An applicant may withdraw before selection by contacting the Organiser. A selected creator who can no longer participate must notify the Organiser immediately in writing.

13.2 If a selected creator withdraws, becomes unavailable, is found ineligible or is disqualified, the Organiser may appoint a reserve creator and revise pairings, areas or arrangements.

13.3 The Organiser may disqualify or remove a creator for material breach of these Terms and Conditions or the campaign brief; failure to attend or deliver; dishonesty; unsafe, unlawful, abusive or seriously disruptive conduct; reputational harm; manipulation of engagement; or refusal to follow reasonable instructions.

13.4 Where a creator withdraws without reasonable cause or is disqualified because of their breach after non-refundable bookings have been made, the Organiser may seek reimbursement of direct, reasonable and documented costs caused by that withdrawal or breach, to the extent permitted by law.

14 Health, Safety, Insurance and Personal Responsibility

14.1 Creators are responsible for assessing their fitness to travel and participate. A creator must promptly disclose relevant dietary, accessibility, medical or safety requirements so that the Organiser can assess whether reasonable arrangements are available.

14.2 Each creator must obtain and maintain adequate travel insurance covering the Trip Period, including medical treatment, personal accident, trip disruption and personal belongings. Proof of insurance will be required before departure.

14.3 Creators must exercise reasonable care, comply with safety instructions and local laws, and avoid activities they consider beyond their abilities. Participation in any optional activity is subject to the operator’s rules and may require a separate waiver.

14.4 Creators remain responsible for passports, visas, medication, equipment and personal belongings. The Organiser is not responsible for loss or damage except to the extent caused by its negligence or otherwise required by law.

14.5 Shortlisted applicants and selected creators must review, sign and return the Organiser’s separate travel indemnity and release by the stated deadline. The document may address travel risks, medical treatment, emergency assistance, personal responsibility, releases and other trip-specific matters. A person who does not complete the required document will not be permitted to participate and may be replaced.

15 Changes, Postponement and Cancellation

15.1 The Organiser may reasonably change, postpone, suspend or cancel any part of the Challenge where circumstances outside its reasonable control make the original arrangements unsafe, unlawful, impracticable or materially disrupted. Such circumstances may include severe weather, transport disruption, public-health events, government restrictions, venue closure, civil disturbance, natural disaster or platform failure.

15.2 Where practicable, the Organiser may substitute dates, activities, locations, suppliers, judging arrangements or prizes with alternatives of reasonably comparable nature or value.

15.3 If the Challenge or trip is cancelled, no creator is entitled to a cash substitute for sponsored travel, accommodation, activities or opportunities that were not received. This does not affect rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16 Liability

16.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

16.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Organiser, the Content Partner and HKTB are not liable for indirect or consequential loss; loss of income, opportunity, audience, reputation or data; platform outages or algorithm changes; or acts and omissions of airlines, hotels, venues, activity operators, transport providers or other independent third parties.

16.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the aggregate liability of the Organiser arising from a creator’s participation in the Challenge will not exceed S$1,000, except for liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

16.4 Each creator is responsible for claims, losses or costs arising from their breach of these Terms and Conditions, unlawful conduct or infringement of third-party rights. Any indemnity should apply only to the extent the claim, loss or cost was caused by that creator.

17 Personal Data

17.1 The Organiser may collect, use, disclose and otherwise process personal data submitted in an application or generated through participation for purposes including verifying eligibility, reviewing applications, contacting applicants, administering travel and Challenge activities, managing safety and emergencies, judging, awarding prizes, publishing the creator lineup and results, campaign reporting, and complying with legal obligations.

17.2 Personal data may be disclosed to the Content Partner, HKTB and service providers such as airlines, hotels, insurers, production teams, agencies, activity operators and technology providers where reasonably necessary for these purposes. Some recipients may be located outside Singapore.

17.3 Personal data will be handled in accordance with the Organiser’s privacy policy at https://thetravelintern.com/privacy-policy/. Applicants may contact [email protected] to request access or correction, withdraw consent where applicable, or raise a privacy question.

17.4 Withdrawal of consent may affect the Organiser’s ability to assess an application or facilitate participation. The Organiser may retain records for as long as reasonably required for the stated purposes, legal compliance and dispute management.

18 Confidentiality and Announcements

18.1 Before an official public announcement, shortlisted and selected creators must keep confidential any non-public information about selection results, pairings, assigned areas, itineraries, campaign materials, business arrangements and other participants.

18.2 Creators must coordinate public announcements with the Organiser and must not imply endorsement, approval or a relationship beyond the Challenge.

19 General Terms

19.1 The campaign brief, written creator instructions, travel indemnity and release, and any signed participant or content-usage agreement form part of the agreement between the Organiser and a shortlisted applicant or selected creator, as applicable. If there is a conflict, the following order of precedence applies: content usage agreement > travel indemnity and release > these terms and conditions.

19.2 The Organiser may amend these Terms and Conditions where reasonably necessary. Material changes affecting selected creators will be communicated directly and will not apply retrospectively in a manner that unfairly removes accrued rights.

19.3 If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure or delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of that provision.

19.4 A person who is not a party to these Terms and Conditions has no right to enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 of Singapore, except that HKTB may enforce any provision expressly stated to benefit or protect it.

19.5 These Terms and Conditions are governed by Singapore law. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
