We start the expedition venturing deep into the Amazon by boat, heading to regions of the forests that are untouched by man. Keep a lookout for some of the most unique animals and diverse fauna, and experience nature’s untamed beauty as we camp under the stars

Meet your new travel pals at Lima Airport! Chill in the city and rest well before the adventure starts tomorrow!

Day 2 — Huacachina

Today is a long action-packed day of adventures!

The day starts with a boat ride around the Ballestas Islands, home to various wildlife like penguins and sea lions!

We’ve planned a special lunch in Ica filled with a wide variety of Peruvian wines, including the world-famous Pisco.

Our final destination is Huacachina, a picturesque desert oasis nestled in the heart of the Ica Desert. Brace yourself for an afternoon of sand-boarding and dune buggy riding experiences, unveiling the enchanting beauty of the desert landscape.

Day 3 — Flight to Cusco

We take a domestic flight to Cusco! Once the capital of the ancient Inca Empire, it is now acknowledged as the historic capital of Peru. With every cobblestone and every corner offering a piece of history, exploring this city promises to be a captivating experience!

Day 4-8 — Salkantay Trek (Machu Picchu)

Trekking to Machu Pichu is one of the top bucket list destinations in the world, but there’s more than one way to get there! The Salkantay trek brings us through the mountain range, offering stunning mountainous scenery and chances to spot wildlife.

Along the way, we’ll pass by stunning sights such as the Humantay Lake, majestic glaciers, and walk through Andean forests. The highest point of this trek though, is the Salkantay Pass — soaring to a breath-taking height of 4,650m. Stay in a mix of huts and comfortable glass domes along the way, where we’ll feel like we’re literally sleeping under the stars.

Day 9 — Flight to Iquitos

Pack your bags, bid our final farewell to the Andean Mountains, and catch our flight to Iquitos.

Day 10-15 — Amazon Expedition

Our first leg of the expedition starts with 6 days deep into the Amazon Rainforest. We’ll navigate through the waters by foot and canoe, keeping our eyes peeled along the riverbanks for animals native to the jungle. Experience life in the Amazon, like piranha fishing, swimming in the Pucate River, and search for pink and grey dolphins!

With some creatures only coming out after dark, experience the thrill of night walks into the jungle with our guides, searching for animals such as the nine banded armadillo!

Day 16 — Flight back to Lima

We’ll bid the green goodbye and take a domestic flight back to Lima.

After days in the forest, it’s time to treat yourself to a good meal and extra hot showers! Don’t worry, our adventure continues!

Day 17 — R&R in Lima

Explore this vibrant city, rich in culture, history and architectural landscapes. Known as the “Gastronomic Capital of the Americas”, treat yourself to a good meal, or visit one of the many museums around.

FAQs

Qn: Who is this trip suitable for?

If you’re adventurous, open-minded, and excited to immerse in a new culture, this is the trip for you!

Also if,

  • You want to visit Peru without having to plan
  • You have an open heart to meet people from different walks of life and go with the flow
  • You want to explore and rough it out in the Amazon Rainforest and connect with nature
  • You want to experience trekking in the Andean Mountains

Qn: I missed the sign-up deadline, can i still join?

If you missed the 15th March 2024 deadline, please contact us at +65 88196479. We will see what we can do for you!

Qn: The trip I want to join is full, is there a waitlist?

Yes! Join the waitlist here! We’ll let you know if anyone pulls out by May!

Qn: What if I only want to do a portion of the trip?

Flying all the way to Peru is already such a long journey, so we know that it might make more sense to try everything! However, we also know that it might be really difficult to get your annual leave approved. We have intentionally split this trip up into 2 portions, where you can either come for the Amazon leg or Machu Picchu leg. They overlap at Huacachina.

Qn: Do I require a certain level of fitness?

For the Amazon portion, we will be walking a few hours everyday in the forest. There won’t be much elevation gain, so this would be suitable for anyone who’s up for hiking in the forest.

For the Salkantay Trek, it’s no walk in the park, but definitely possible for beginners or first-time multi-day hikers if you train for it. There will be long hours of hiking and we’ll reach high altitudes of up to 4,650m in the trek. Having a moderate level of fitness will definitely make your experience more enjoyable. You should be comfortable walking 6-8hrs a day with a 5kg load.

We’ll be hosting an optional (but highly encouraged) training hike and will share a training programme before the start of the expedition to ensure a base fitness level for all participants!

Qn: What is the accommodation like?

In the cities, indulge in comfort in modern hotels with cozy twin-sharing rooms.

Amazon Leg

As we venture into the Amazon jungle, we’ll be trading our concrete hotel walls for the forest’s green canopy as we camp in tents. Not going to lie, this is definitely not a luxurious camp. But it’s going to be an exciting and unique experience!

Machu Picchu Leg

During the Salkantay Trek, we have gotten a variety of accommodations, so that you can experience everything. Sleep in clear glass domes under the starry sky, in comfortable huts, and even in a hotel on the last night!

Qn: How is this different from going on my own?

Trips to exotic destinations are more fun with a big group! But not everyone has friends that are willing to jump onto an adventure at a moments notice! We planned this community trip so you can meet other fellow adventurers from different walks of life that are equally passionate about travel! There’s also safety in numbers, and our team on the ground will lookout for each and every one of you 🙂

What’s more, our TTI Experiences team will be on the ground capturing different moments from the trip. We’ll be producing a trip video and sharing some edited photos for you to remember all the epic moments.

Qn: Are flights included in my trip?

All domestic flights are included! However, international flights to and fro are not included in this package. This gives you the flexibility to plan if you’d like to extend your trip before or after joining us! If you’d like to travel with us, let us know and we’ll send you our schedule of recommended flights!

Qn: Where do we meet?

For those joining us for the Ultimate adventure or the Amazon portion of the trip, we will be meeting in Singapore (if we take the same flight), or directly at Lima. For those only joining us for the Machu Picchu portion, we will meet at the hotel in Lima. We will help you arrange transport if you take our recommended flight timings!

Qn: Is this trip open to all nationalities?

All nationalities are welcome to join.

Let us know where you’re from during the application! If you need a visa, we’ll help you out with the info required for the application.

Qn: What should I pack?

Upon confirmation, we’ll be providing a detailed packing list specifically for this trip.

Qn: Do I need to bring any cash along?

Yes, you do! There are a few days of R&R in the cities. Cash is also required if you happen to purchase anything along the trek.

Qn: Do I need any specific vaccination?

The team will share recommended vaccinations in the welcome package once you’ve signed up 🙂

Qn: Can I indicate interest for next year, as these dates don't fit my schedule this year?

Yes! Join the interest list here!
