If you’ve ever dreamed of getting paid to travel (₱25,000/month) and create content to inspire others, this job might just be perfect for you. And yes, travel expenses are also paid for.

For those who don’t know us, The Travel Intern is a Singapore-based community of storytellers and explorers. Since 2016, we’ve been sharing our love for travelling through film, photos and words and continue to inspire travellers to travel better, smarter, and braver.

In fact, we have travelled on 184 trips to over 44 countries!

Now, we want to grow our community in the Philippines, and we want you to join us! (Opportunities to convert to full-time positions after the internship programme are available too)

DISCLAIMER: If you’re looking for a holiday, this is not it. But if you want to grow your craft with a community that looks to expand its comfort zones, we’re looking for you!

We’re looking for Interns who:

– love travelling and have benefitted from their experiences on the road
– are excited to grow their craft and help others travel better, smarter, and braver
– are independent and responsible in a remote working arrangement
– can communicate fluently in English
– have a valid passport, and your own laptop to work on

There are the roles we are looking for:

(1) Videographers

As a videographer at The Travel Intern, you will be involved in conceptualising, shooting, and editing short and long form videos for the various TTI Social platforms.

You should be familiar with:
– Editing on Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
– Operating DSLRs/Mirrorless Cameras
– Sound Design & Colouring
– Editing on tight deadlines
*Bonus: comfortable with flying drones (but don’t worry, you can learn on the job too)

(2) Writers:

Trip Planning on TripAdvisor

As a writer at The Travel Intern, you’ll be involved in ideating, planning, and contributing editorial content on thetravelintern.com. You’ll also dabble in social media marketing and contribute to new social platforms for The Philippines’ audience.

You are:
– comfortable writing clearly and succinctly with good grammar/spelling
– able to adapt to a publication’s tone of voice
– creative and have a keen eye for what’s interesting to a specific audience

(Bonus) You’re also:
– proficient in photography
– comfortable on camera
– experienced with writing for online publications

(3) Virtual Assistant:

As a Virtual Assistant at The Travel Intern, some of the roles you might dabble in include:
– assisting the team with travel arrangements (from research to bookings)
– conducting topic-centric research for the content team
– customer service management for the TTI Experiences team
– management of company social media accounts (scheduling and strategy)

This role is for you if you:
– are detailed-oriented and can work independently
– love planning travel itineraries
– are good with research and administrative task

Good to have experience/skills:
– Graphic design (Photoshop/illustrator)
– Management of company social media accounts (scheduling and strategy)
– Able to do basic editing for photos, social media videos (Instagram, TikTok)

What to expect:

– 6 months starting from Jan 2023 (full-time internship only)
– Monthly allowance from ₱25,000
– Remote working arrangement (we will likely meet once a month)
– Travel opportunities within the Philippines & internationally (at least 1 international trip). All travel expenses paid
– Be part of a growing community of like-minded adventurers

Step 3 — Complete this application form

The form will ask you for two things:
– a 60s video telling us about yourself other than your love for travelling
– a portfolio showing us your best work for the role you’re applying for (see below for pro-tips!)

For the Videographers, show your proficiency in:
– Story-telling (pacing & flow)
– Sound design & colouring
*bonus if you’re comfortable in front of the camera as well!

For the writers:
– send us links to your work that had been published online
– or your own blog if you regularly create content (send us 2-3 of your most proud pieces)
– if you’ve never written for publications or own a blog, look through the articles written on thetravelintern.com and write a short piece adapting to the page’s tone of voice (bonus if you do this even with prior works published online!)
