Ever heard of a workcation?

Since Covid, most of us have probably tried working outside of the office — while we love the convenience and new views, there are downsides too.
Working from home can be uninspiring (or even unconducive). Cafes might not always have sufficient plugs, stable WiFi, or even sufficient table space! Not to mention how noisy it gets for Zoom calls, urgh.
We decided to take it up a notch with working remotely — we’re going on a Workcation and we’ve sourced just the place to try it out!
Without buying a plane ticket out of Singapore, the next best thing is to look for a place located near fun activities you can check out once the work is done. And what better place than at Sentosa?
At Resorts World Sentosa, the newest kid on the block — Hotel Ora claims to be the best Bleisure hotel around. Let’s see what it has in store:

What’s interesting about Hotel Ora is the space available for remote workers.
There’s a communal area with several co-working spaces that accommodate up to 28 pax, four multi-functional rooms (two rooms fit up to 9 pax; the other two up to 5 pax), and an alfresco terrace function area!

Power sockets are also abundant and you’ll likely be working amongst interesting people with remote working arrangements — potentially a great place to network and socialise.

But if you need to focus and have a little privacy, there are tables with partitions too!

Apart from workstations, the hotel also has lifestyle facilities like an outdoor swimming pool with a modern design and lounging options to unwind and relax!
Plus, audio-guided nature treks are also available — just plug in your earphones and follow the directions and stories while exploring Sentosa’s tranquil outdoors 🌳

If you prefer working out indoors, drop by the gym with state-of-the-art equipment like treadmills, cross trainers and a full squat rack! There’s plenty of equipment for everyone to share so chances are you won’t have to queue up for the machines 😌

It’s quite spacious too, with separate yoga and spin rooms for a different kind of workout.
*Pro-tip: If you want to work out in your own room and time, the gym also loans out dumbbells and stretching bands!

As for food, hit up the onsite 24/7 Grab & Go cafe — you can grab snacks like sandwiches, cup noodles and chips, or tea and coffee any time of the day.
Deluxe Rooms and Suites

Besides looking comfy AF, the rooms at Hotel Ora have some pretty cool amenities! Each spacious room is designed with sustainability in mind. For instance, all rooms have motion sensors and electric-efficient fans to reduce energy consumption⚡

Toiletries are sourced from environmentally friendly local brands like Oasis, a plant-based beauty brand which focuses on low-waste products. They are even packed in sustainable packaging like full bottles instead of small disposable ones for body wash and shampoo.
You’ll also find that there’s no bottled water served in the rooms. Instead, you have glass carafes and access to a water dispenser on each room level!

For those who prefer working in a private space, each room comes with work-friendly tables right next to USB ports, power sockets, and a smart TV — and of course complimentary high-speed WiFi.
At Hotel Ora, there are 389 rooms of two different types: Deluxe Room (with or without pool view) and Deluxe Suite. The only difference is that the Deluxe Suite is bigger at 64sqm compared to the Deluxe Room, which is 32sqm.
Attractions within walking distance
Since Hotel Ora is already within Sentosa, there’s that incentive to work productively, close the laptop, and head out to play!
I’m not kidding when I say these are almost literally at your doorstep! Just 5 minutes on foot, you can get to Universal Studios Singapore, S.E.A. Aquarium, Dolphin Island and Adventure Cove Waterpark, Resorts World Convention Centre, and the casino.
It’s also convenient to get around the island via the Sentosa Express and explore the surrounding beaches.
*Pro-tip: Take half a day off on a weekday and enjoy these places without the crowds 😉
