This is really cool.
Switzerland just made us fall in love with them even more. With countries around the world going through a difficult time due to COVID-19, Zermatt Matterhorn teamed up with light artist Gerry Hofstetter to project the flags of different countries onto Matterhorn in a symbolic act of solidarity.
Projecting daily until the 26th of April, you can catch the light projections live via webcam on Matterhorn’s official website. The projections have been going on for almost a month, so this is your last chance to catch it before it’s gone.

Better known as the “Toblerone Mountain”, Matterhorn is one of the most iconic mountains of the Swiss Alps, rising to a height of 4,478m. It’s also one of our favourite places in Switzerland, with epic views that reminds us of the beauty around the world.
Most easily accessible from Zermatt, the area around Matterhorn is great for skiing, hiking and sightseeing.

According to Zermatt Tourism, “Zermatt wants to give people a sign of hope and solidarity in these difficult times. The village shows solidarity with all the people who are currently suffering and is grateful to all those who are helping to overcome the crisis.”
Currently, approximately 30 countries have had their flags projected onto Matterhorn.
