GREATER KRUGER AN AFRICA EXPEDITION THE TRAVEL INTERN SIGN UP NOW Slide

9D Expedition To The African Savanna

Join us and other like-minded adventurers from 15 – 23 March as we head off to Greater Kruger in Africa to start off our year’s expeditions

Greater Kruger

We’re headed into Greater Kruger, one of the top three national parks in South Africa. As this takes place towards the end of peak season, we’ll (hopefully) have the luxury of having the savanna all to ourselves!

Greater Kruger is home to Africa’s BIG FIVE, the five large African mammal species hunted as trophies back in the day. For this trip, the only shooting will be done with our cameras — on game drives through the safari or up close when we go on bush walks.

Join us on our first TTI Expedition to Africa

If you’re looking for other animal enthusiasts, here’s the perfect chance!

On this expedition, leave the planning to us! All you gotta do is clear your schedule (15 – 23 March 2023), book your flights, and be prepared for a lot of fun!

BONUS: You’ll be travelling with The Travel Intern Content Experts who will act as your personal photographers. Feel free to ask for advice on framing your shots and receive beautifully edited photos and a special trip video at the end of the trip to remember the breathtaking moments. We’ll also hold an optional photography and editing workshop exclusively for participants so you have the basics down before the trip.

Itinerary (9 days, 8 nights)

Day 1

Arrive in Johannesburg — meet your new travel pals and explore the city. Do some last-minute shopping for essential gear and rest early before the start of the expedition!

Day 2

The expedition begins with a drive to Balule Nature Reserve and a 3-hour sunset game drive in Greater Kruger.

Meals included: Dinner

Day 3

We’ll start our day with an early morning (bless) bush walk along the Olifants River. We’ll get close to the animals, and if we’re lucky, we’ll have our first sighting of Africa’s Big Five! Don’t worry. Armed guides will be there to make sure we’re safe! In case we miss them, we have another game drive in the afternoon to try again.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4

It’s going to be a full day of game drives! We have three 3-hour game drives ahead of us, with small breaks between meals! So keep your camera rolling because you’ll never know what we’ll see when we’re on the safari!

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 5

A small break for the big game day brings us to Moholoholo Rehabilitation Wildlife Center! We’ll learn more about the conservation efforts in Africa in the care of injured and orphaned wild animals.

(keep it a secret, but we may be taking pictures WITH cheetahs here)

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 6

If you missed the Big Five on Day 4, today’s another chance because we’re out for a full day of game drives again! This time we’re exploring a different part of Greater Kruger. Let’s hope for some fantastic sights!

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 7

We drive by the famous Panorama Route and say goodbye to Greater Kruger. It’s a chill day today, and the start of our R&R. Fret not, the adventure isn’t over yet!

Meals included: Breakfast

Day 8

Most people that come to South Africa will only do a one-day game drive. But we’re not most people! On day 8, we venture through the safari on horseback, before hopping on a white rafting course to wrap up the trip!

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 9

Our last day of the trip and your last chance to do every last thing on your bucket list before we head back on an evening flight!

FAQs

Qn: How is this trip different than going on my own?

Trips to exotic destinations are more fun with a big group! But not everyone has friends that are willing to jump onto an adventure at a moments notice! We planned this trip so that you can meet other fellow adventurers, people from different walks of life that are equally as passionate about travel and adventures!

With the local expertise of our travel partner, we’ll get an intimate taste of our surprise destination’s culture, especially the authentic, rugged experiences that most tourists don’t have access to.

What’s more, our Travel Intern Content Experts will be on the ground as your personal photographers. We’ll be producing a trip video and edited photos for you to remember all the epic moments. Aspiring photographers can also attend our pre-trip photography workshop exclusive to trip participants, and we’ll guide you in taking and editing photos during the trip itself!

Qn: Are flights included in my trip?

International flights to and fro are not included in the cost of this trip! We believe in giving travellers the ability to determine how long they’d like to travel for and where they’d want to travel from, so flights can be booked independently.

If you’d like to fly together with us, we’ll be leaving on 15th March and arriving on 24th March (will be updating the group with the exact flights as soon as that’s confirmed)

Qn: Who is this trip suitable for?

If you’re adventurous, open-minded, and excited to immerse in a new culture, this is the trip for you!

You should also be ready to embrace the great outdoors. We have comfortable lodging at night, but it’s a different story when we’re out for game drives in the day.

Qn: Is this trip open to all nationalities?

All nationalities are welcome to join.

Let us know where you’re from during the application! If you need a visa, we’ll help you out with the info required for the application.

Qn: Who will be on the trip?

We’re looking for 15 fun-loving travelers who’d love to explore together! Whether you’re a solo traveler or want to tag along with some friends, you’re in for a great time. Rounding off the team are our Travel Intern Content Experts and our local expedition guide

Qn: How safe is this trip?

We will take the following precautions for a smooth and safe trip:

  • Travelling in a big group of at least 15 people
  • A local guide will accompany us at all times, with firsthand knowledge of the areas
  • Travelling in a private all-terrain vehicle with a local, experienced driver

Qn: Do I need a certain level of fitness?

Not really, we have a couple of bush walks during the trip, so you should be able to carry your water and other essentials for a 4hr hike.

Qn: What should I pack?

Upon confirmation, we’ll be providing a detailed packing list specifically for this trip.

Qn: Do I need to bring any cash along?

Yes, you do! There are two R&R days of the trip for you guys to book optional activities and tours!

Qn: What will accommodation be like during the trip?

We have something special planned for you guys to give a unique experience. Since you’ve read all the way here, this is a little hint for you: it’s probably one of the places you wish you could stay in as a kid!

The rooms will be twin sharing so you’ll get to meet your new travel buddies!

If you’ve got any accommodation requests, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. 🙂
